Designed to take advantage of its expansive views, this traditionally styled Wānaka home combines comfortable living with a strong connection to the outdoors.
Natural materials give the home a warm, timeless character, with vertical western red cedar, horizontal weatherboards and schist detailing used throughout the exterior. Inside, American oak flooring, tongue-and-groove ceilings and Prolam feature trusses add warmth and texture.
A covered walkway connects the garage to the main entrance, while carefully considered spaces provide a relaxed flow between indoor and outdoor living.
Quality craftsmanship and attention to detail were important throughout the build, with a focus on creating a straightforward process for the clients.
The home was awarded a 2018 Master Builders Southern Region Gold Award in the Carters New Home $1m–$2m category, presented to Owens Building, Wānaka.
